School Leadership – Peer Mentors & Youth Health Champions

Throughout their time at Manningtree High students have many opportunities to take up leadership roles. Peer Mentors and Youth Health Champions are all students in Year 10 who have been selected to help support students in Years 7 and 8 throughout the year.

The Youth Health Champions will be focusing on educating students about the importance of physical and mental health. They will be delivering sessions to Year 7 form groups and doing other campaigns to help promote this in school. The key role of the Peer Mentor is to provide support for students in Years 7 and 8. This can be through informative sessions delivered on PSHE type topics in Year 8 form time, or it could be providing support for individual students who want help at break time or lunchtime. We are really proud of all of the students who applied, and were selected for these roles. They have all got off to a great start (Mr Kelcher).
