We are delighted to share that Chess Club, led by Mr Betts, is growing in both size and experience. Chess Club has been recently supported by a generous donation of kit from one of our parents (thank you Mr Newman) and a grant from the English Chess Federation. These generous donations have enabled the club to expand.
We now have a Chess Team that have played in an inter-school match against The Trinity School which we narrowly lost and, in an Alpha Trust tournament where we came in second again, behind Trinity School. We are hoping to be able to play more matches in the coming year and gain our first trophy. There will also be an inter-house chess competition later this year.
